Helping SMEs to Innovate
For the UK to remain competitive in a global market place we need to look to the future, we need to build on our current capabilities and nurture new ideas and forward thinking.
Working with SMEs is integral to CPI’s overall strategy. CPI was set up in April 2004 to address innovation in the process industries, an area which SMEs play a pivotal role. CPI has provided innovation services for the last 11 years, assisting companies through the Innovation space demonstrated by TRL levels 4–7 as shown below, and commonly referred to as the ‘valley of death’.
CPI understands what is required for a company to survive in this space and successfully take a concept from research to commercialisation. By offering open access, state-of-the-art facilities alongside technical expertise and business development knowledge, CPI has assisted over 2000 partners, 60% of which are SMEs.
