Programme structure
The programme is coordinated by CPI on behalf of Innovate UK, with delivery through CPI, Catapult GTC Centre and Medicines Discovery Catapult (MDC), offering technical delivery of awarded projects.
- Applications will be accepted through an online form and will be assessed competitively.
- The projects delivered will have a value of up to £90,000, with the final value confirmed by the Catapult centre following detailed scoping discussions with the SMEs allocated projects.
- SMEs selected for participation in the programme will be interviewed at both the start and the end of their projects to capture insights, understand challenges, and feedback on the programme, helping to inform future policy and funding strategies. This information will be shared with IUK.
- Funding will be allocated directly to the relevant Catapult centre, which will deliver the technical work in collaboration with the awarded SME. SMEs will not receive direct financial transfers or an innovation voucher; instead, they will benefit from the full value of the technical support provided.
- SMEs are not required to contribute to the costs of delivering the work. If the value of the work exceeds the funding available, then the scope of work will be reduced in consultation with the SME.
