The Opportunity
This is a strategic role within CPI’s digital transformation journey. As Cloud Architect/Engineer, you will be responsible for shaping and delivering CPI’s cloud data strategy, ensuring our infrastructure is secure, scalable, and future-ready. You will lead the design and implementation of cloud solutions that underpin critical business systems and data platforms, enabling CPI to harness advanced analytics, automation, and AI capabilities.
You will work closely with technical teams, business stakeholders, and external partners to define best practices for cloud adoption, migration, and governance. This role offers the chance to influence CPI’s technology roadmap, introduce innovative solutions, and drive efficiency across multiple business units. What You’ll Do
- Develop and implement CPI’s cloud strategy and solutions to support business objectives.
- Design, implement, manage, and maintain cloud architecture for efficiency, security, and cost optimisation projects in data, analytics, and AI.
- Evaluate cloud applications and software to ensure alignment with CPI’s digital strategy.
- Define best practices for cloud migration, including bulk application migration.
- Collaborate with IT and technical teams to optimise cloud infrastructure and deliver key business targets.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, government regulations, and defence contract requirements.
- Horizon scan for emerging technologies and provide recommendations to improve cloud architecture.
- Develop and implement cloud governance policies and procedures.
- Act as a subject matter expert, translating business requirements from technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Share knowledge and upskill employees on cloud solution architecture and best practices.
The person we are seeking
About You
You will bring:
- Demonstrable expertise in cloud engineering on platforms such as AWS and Azure (Google Cloud experience desirable).
- Strong cloud solution architect expertise, knowledge of networking and security.
- Experience designing and building scalable, resilient cloud solutions in data, AI/ML applications.
- Proven experience with data warehousing, data lakes, distributed data processing, and data pipelines.
- Familiarity with automation tools and DevOps practices (CI/CD, infrastructure as code).
- Understanding of data security, compliance, and governance.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to gather and interpret requirements.
Qualifications:
- Degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
- Cloud certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or Google Professional Cloud Architect are highly desirable.
