Innovate with the technology of light
Eligibility Europe

Are you looking for support with your photonics-enabled technology

Photon Hub is a pan-European photonics digital innovation hub to help SMEs and mid-caps become highly competitive digital businesses through faster and smarter deployment of photonics-based technologies.

Photonics, the science and technology of generating, controlling, and detecting photons, is a key enabling technology that is rapidly transforming the traditional industrial base. Photonics technologies are being used to create and launch exciting new products for application in a wide range of markets sectors including healthcare, digital infrastructure, manufacturing, safety, security, space, defence, agri-food, mobility and energy.

A single photonics innovation hub

To accelerate the uptake and deployment of photonics technologies by European industries, PhotonHub has established a single photonics innovation hub to integrates all of the best-in-class photonics technologies, facilities, expertise and experience from 53 leading centres across Europe spread between 15 member states, comprising 500+ experts.

PhotonHub provides open access support for any company anywhere in Europe that wants to innovate with photonics. We offer tailored expert advice on the next steps towards the successful implementation of your photonics-enabled innovation, as well as guiding you towards the most appropriate local support activity. This open-access hub is a one-stop-shop solution for any company anywhere in Europe that wants to innovate with photonics.

In the UK, your local representatives are CPI and the University of Southampton.

Where we can help

  • Supporting innovation with photonics where you do not have the expertise or the technology in-house
  • Assisting in photonics technology to build a prototype
  • Providing expertise if you have a prototype and are now looking to put it into production
  • Regional funding to support your innovation project
  • Helping you to find investors to finance the scaling up of your company
