Safety, Health and Environment Policy
Our SHE policy applies to our staff and everyone who works for us
The Centre for Process Innovation (CPI) is fully committed to:
- providing a safe environment for all employees, visitors, customers, clients and contractors;
- providing and fostering a culture that promotes the health and well-being of our employees;
- minimising adverse environmental impact and promoting sustainable practices.
As CEO, I am personally committed to ensuring the effective implementation of this policy. Through the support of our management teams and every employee, we will identify and comply with all applicable statutory legislation, approved codes of practice and standards. Moreover, we will proactively seek opportunities to exceed these requirements, driving continuous improvement in our operations. Through effective risk management, CPI will strive to ensure its operations are suitably assessed to eliminate hazards. Where elimination is not possible, CPI will implement risk control measures to reduce risks to levels that are as low as reasonably practicable.
To achieve these aims, CPI will:
- allocate the required financial and physical resources to ensure the effective implementation and maintenance of our SHE management system;
- engage all employees to create a positive SHE culture where they understand their responsibilities through ongoing communication, consultation, cooperation, training and maintaining competency;
- set SHE objectives and targets, monitor performance and report progress at SHE Council meetings;
- engage with contractors, suppliers and business partners to assess their commitment to SHE as part of the selection criteria;
- maintain a transparent reporting culture to learn from accidents, incidents, behavioural triggers and implement improvements;
- minimise environmental impact by enhancing sustainability and resource efficiency, reducing waste and CO2 emissions, preventing pollution, and implementing effective waste management measures;
- conduct regular safety and environmental audits, supported by housekeeping/safe behaviour tours, to monitor SHE performance and identify improvements;
- periodically review and update emergency plans based on lessons learned from drills and actual incidents;
- take into account ethical concerns when carrying out research involving human subjects.
CPI requires all employees, visitors, customers, clients, contractors, and suppliers to be committed to the support and implementation of this policy. It will be displayed at all CPI premises and reviewed on an annual basis.
