On the 23rd of April, 2024 - we are hosting our second Oligonucleotide Manufacturing Symposium at our Medicines Manufacturing Innovation Centre.

This symposium will bring together key stakeholders from across the sector to highlight the emerging process technologies in the field and explore how those processes are best developed and exploited to drive successful manufacturing at scale.

Oligonucleotides are a revolutionary new therapeutic in the pharma industry. These short, chemically synthesised fragments of DNA or RNA modulate protein expression through several different mechanisms to treat the underlying drivers of disease.

They can cover a wide variety of diseases, from cancer to Alzheimer’s, and have the potential to unlock medicines for conditions currently considered untreatable and create more effective medicines for larger patient populations, such as heart disease.

At the event, you will hear from a range of industry, academic, government and regulatory speakers who will also outline some of the key challenges, such as targeted delivery and the balance between efficacy and efficiency, including;

The conference will include a panel discussion on the future of oligonucleotide therapeutics and will be followed by a networking reception.
