Nikki, who is CPI’s General Counsel and Company Secretary, is a Solicitor with over 20 years’ experience. In addition to her solicitor qualifications, Nikki is also a qualified Trade Mark Attorney.

Nikki’s legal career began in-house at ICI where she worked for over 20 years. While at ICI, Nikki undertook a broad range of work including Intellectual Property and its protection (including the worldwide protection of the Dulux dog!) and the sale of ICI’s business together with a number of subsequent business acquisitions.

In 2007 Nikki moved into private legal practice when she joined a Teesside commercial law firm in their Corporate & Commercial department. In 2011 Nikki moved to a commercial firm in Newcastle upon Tyne to set up their intellectual property function and grow their business in this area, acting for a wide range of businesses, including CPI, in relation to the protection of their intellectual property.

In 2014 Nikki joined CPI. Since then, Nikki has worked to establish CPI’s internal legal team. Today, the legal team deals with a diverse range of legal areas and works to minimise risk whilst enabling the business to achieve its objectives in a legally and regulatory compliant way. Nikki is also Company Secretary to the CPI group companies and works closely with the Board of Directors and various board committees in that role as well as with the Senior Leadership Team.
