Processing Lignocellulosic Biomass Conference

The conference was held on Thursday 8th November 2012 at the Wilton Centre, Redcar, and was organised by SCI’s Bioresources, Science and Enterprise, Process Engineering and Biotechnology Groups in collaboration with the Centre for Process Innovation (CPI).

The primary focus of the event was the UK role for biomass conversion, and the business and commercial implications of the technologies being developed. The conference explored the commercial potential for processing plants identifying opportunities, developments in the market and supply chain options.

Overall the day was a success with the attendance of around 90 delegates. The conference included presentations from a multitude of speakers, a tour of CPI’s National Industrial Biotechnology Facilities and the Anaerobic Digestion Development Centre, and a poster exhibition.
