CPI has appointed Greig Rooney as Managing Director for Pharma and HealthTech. He will join CPI’s Executive Leadership Team in January 2026 to accelerate innovation that transforms patient outcomes and advances UK health resilience.
An accomplished life sciences leader with more than 20 years of experience across pharmaceuticals, vaccines, and biopharmaceutical manufacturing, Greig has a proven track record of transforming organisations and developing high-performing teams. His career has spanned the UK, Europe, and the USA, most recently as Managing Director at Valneva Scotland, where he led major national and international initiatives and worked closely with highly skilled teams to deliver strategic programmes of national importance.
Greig’s leadership in driving excellence in safety, quality, and regulatory compliance, alongside his strategic mindset and collaborative style, has made a real impact across the industry. His approach exemplifies the kind of agility and innovation that CPI exists to enable.
Central to Greig’s leadership is his belief that every person contributes to a company’s mission. He is passionate about empowering people, hearing diverse voices, and creating environments where innovation can thrive.
At CPI, Greig will drive the strategic direction of our Pharma and HealthTech portfolio, fostering collaboration across academia, industry, government, and the investment community to accelerate the scale-up of innovative products and processes. He aims to connect the dots between sectors – from pharmaceuticals and medical devices to emerging digital and AI-enabled technologies – to unlock new opportunities for economic growth and patient impact.
Diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at 17 after surviving malaria as a child, Greig has a deeply personal understanding of how innovation can change lives. Now using an artificial pancreas system to manage his own condition, he is passionate about marrying medical technology with targeted therapies to improve the quality of life for people living with chronic diseases.
