The collaboration brings together CPI’s technical expertise, translational R&D capabilities and world-class innovation infrastructure with XeleratedFifty’s global network of investors, corporates and government partners. Together, CPI and XeleratedFifty will support the growth of innovative UK companies by helping them scale internationally and bring transformative technologies to market faster.

The partnership reflects a shared ambition to strengthen the UK’s innovation ecosystem by combining technical excellence with commercial expertise. Together, the organisations will help ambitious companies navigate international markets and accelerate the development of technologies that address global challenges.

Initially, the collaboration will focus on creating new opportunities for UK deep tech businesses across key international markets, including the United States, Canada, the UAE, India and Southeast Asia. It will also include joint participation at major international events and the hosting of inward delegations, showcasing UK innovation to investors, governments and industry leaders from around the world.

The partnership strengthens CPI’s commitment to helping businesses bridge the gap between research and commercial success, enabling UK innovation to deliver economic growth, improve resilience and create global impact.

CPI operates more than £180 million of world-class research and development assets across its innovation centres, supporting businesses in areas including sustainable materials and engineering biology. Through this collaboration, CPI will work alongside XeleratedFifty, which has a global track record of scaling and commercialising breakthrough technologies, to provide UK innovators with greater access to international customers, strategic partners and investment opportunities.

Ian Smith, Director of Enterprises at CPI, said:

This partnership is about making sure UK innovation realises its full potential on the global stage – and we believe the timing has never been more important. XeleratedFifty brings global reach, serious commercial relationships, and a team with a strong track record of turning innovation into real-world outcomes at speed. By combining our technical depth with their international network, we can open doors for UK companies that would otherwise take years to unlock.”

Nichola Quinn, Founder and CEO of XeleratedFifty, said:

The UK has world-class science and engineers, but it has not yet managed to turn that into global leadership. The technologies being developed in places like CPI’s facilities are exactly the kind that will define resilience, sovereignty, and future security. They are also a way to inspire and engage the next generation. We can’t afford for them to get stuck in the laboratory. That’s what this partnership is about – and frankly, it’s what motivates me to come to work every day.”

By combining complementary strengths in technology development, commercialisation and international market access, CPI and XeleratedFifty aim to create new pathways for innovative UK businesses to grow globally and deliver lasting economic and societal impact.
