Catherine Quinn is CPI Board’s Senior Independent Director and Chair of its People and Remuneration Committee.

Catherine’s executive career over the last 25 years has crossed a number of sector boundaries, from science, technology and innovation; to higher education and professional training; to the running of national institutions.  She has held a variety of senior leadership roles: at Oxford University, The Wellcome Trust, The Middle Temple, and Kensington Palace, where she served as Private Secretary to a senior member of the Royal Household.

In parallel with her executive roles over the years, Catherine always maintained her interest in serving on boards of companies and public sector bodies, including The Met Office and The Charity Commission.  Her work at governance level led her in 2020 to become a full-time portfolio non-executive.

Catherine currently serves as a director on the boards of three companies - The National Physical Laboratory and The Copyright Licensing Agency, as well as CPI (since January 2022).  She is also Deputy Chair of the COVID-19 Inquiry’s independent Audit and Risk Committee and a Trustee of The Royal Academy of Dance.
