North East Energy Materials (NEEM)
CPI are attending North East Energy Materials (NEEM). NEEM is a group of leading academics from Universities in the North East of the UK including Durham, Newcastle, Northumbria and St. Andrews.
The overall objective of the group is to harness the collective power of our research activities in advanced materials for energy applications to make fundamental scientific breakthroughs and apply these insights to create a broad range of novel energy conversion devices.
An important focus for our work is a critical element of all energy systems, namely the interfaces between the materials within it and their interaction with the environment in which they operate. Key technologies under investigation and development include solar photovoltaics, batteries, fuel cells, wind (onshore and offshore), marine turbines and supercapacitors. The collaboration is inherently multidisciplinary bringing together experts in physics, chemistry, materials science and engineering.
