Industrial application of Marine Biomass
Scotland’s extensive marine bioresources present a tremendous opportunity to develop sustainable pathways and value chains to deliver the products, processes and energy that form part of our daily lives.
The Bioeconomy Cluster Builder and the Blue Economy Cluster Builder are pleased to collaborate on a workshop on industrial applications of marine biomass focusing on three areas:
- Fish aquaculture co-products
Following keynote presentations from thought leaders and industry challenge holders, participants will be invited to join themed breakout rooms to stimulate discussion and facilitate connections. Outputs from the breakout spaces will be analysed to identify opportunities for further exploration and development.

The Bioeconomy Cluster Builder (BCB) is a three-year collaboration between the Industrial Biotechnology Innovation Centre (IBioIC), KTN and Scottish Enterprise. The project aims to grow the Scottish bioeconomy by raising awareness of the applications and benefits of biotechnology and supporting the development of new value chains and markets for bio-based products. Using the extensive networks and knowledge of the three partner organisations, we connect the right people and resources — providing innovation support and signposting to funding opportunities.
The BCB is an ERDF funded project. Information you provide as part of the registration process for this event may be shared between the partner organisations.
