CPI’s Strategic Marketing team are providing an exciting opportunity for a student to gain experience conducting strategic market research during a six week summer placement. The successful candidate will be expected to perform market research and analysis focusing on the pharmaceutical and life sciences market. This will largely be a desk-based position, quantifying research and development activities in important global regions (including America, Europe and Asia). The role will focus on all pharmaceutical & life science markets CPI can operate in including biologics and small molecule, as well as new emerging modalities. The placement student will begin to understand the therapy areas (disease areas) these drugs are predominantly targeted towards and identify ‘innovation drivers’ within these therapy areas. At the end of the 6 weeks, the successful candidate will be expected to produce a presentation outlining the research you have carried out, articulating clear and succinct conclusions.
Duties of the role include:
We are looking to recruit a candidate who is currently working towards a degree or equivalent in a scientific field. An understanding of life sciences would be beneficial. We would also consider candidates who are currently studying a business related degree and have an interest to learn more about pharma and life sciences. This role would be ideal for someone who is interested in moving into a marketing/financial analyst role upon graduating.
Applicants should be competent in using computer packages such as Microsoft Office and Outlook. Candidates should also possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as good time management and the ability to prioritise your work load effectively. It is expected that the successful candidate will be analytical and critical when seeking information as well as being conscientious and objective in their approach.
