Complex Particles Placement (12 weeks)

An opportunity to gain hands on experience in powder handling, processing and characterisation across different industries, supporting laboratory work to contribute towards the smooth running of projects. This role involves working with various powder processing activities from lab to pilot scale and being responsible for applying powder characterisation to demonstrate material properties. The successful candidate must be currently undertaking education at degree level (or equivalent) in Chemical Engineering or a related subject.

Analytical Chemistry and Chemometrics Placement (12 weeks)

An opportunity to gain hands on experience in process monitoring and optimisation using spectroscopic and statistical tools whilst developing knowledge on appropriate sampling for data acquisition and statistics on real industrial applications. Training and experience will be provided on bespoke software including (but not limited to) Quanta and Quanta Model Developer. This role will work in collaboration with the complex particles and high throughput teams. The successful candidate must be currently undertaking education at degree level in a science related subject (Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Pharmacy or Physics).

Colloid Science Placement x 2 (6 weeks)

An opportunity to gain hands on experience in an industrial laboratory, working on the optimisation and formulation of a range of products. The successful candidate would help drive a variety of different projects including the use of Graphene Oxide as a coating, vacuum infusion of composite panels to the production and testing of battery cells and would be involved with the characterisation of formulations using a range of instrumentation and techniques such as rheology and laser diffraction particle sizing. The successful candidate must be currently undertaking education at degree level in a science related subject.
