Why this role is important for CPI’s work
As the Lead Equipment Engineer you will be responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of the maintenance team. Providing technical and hands on support to maintain and improve the reliability of the equipment across CPI. The Lead Equipment Engineer will coordinate the day to day activities of the engineers and technicians in the team to ensure all maintenance activities are carries out in a safe, efficient and effective manner. The Lead Equipment Engineer will offer innovative solutions at business-unit level for area of discipline, contributing extensively to development and improvement activities, identifying training and development opportunities within team to maximise performance.
Duties of the role include:
- To supervise the maintenance teams, ensuring delivery of departmental goals, through appropriate delegation and providing feedback and motivation to team members. This includes providing first line-management support, allocation of resource to ensure project delivery and short term planning of deliverables.
- To collect, collate and analyse fault data and, using key performance indicators, provide corrective actions plans to increase availability and mean time between failures.
- To coordinate technical and engineering manpower on a daily basis, ensuring maximum availability of the equipment across CPI.
The person we are seeking
Candidates should be educated to HNC or Foundation degree (or equivalent) in an Engineering discipline with relevant experience or have significant industrial experience at a senior level.
Candidates will possess significant, technical expertise in maintenance engineering, as well as a compelling evidence of complex technical problem solving. The successful candidate will have the ability to interpret engineering (electrical and mechanical) diagrams and use these to gain an understanding of the operational principles of the toolsets within the facility. Candidates will be able to take responsibility for diverse or complex technical activities where it is necessary to use own initiative and judgement, implementing innovative solutions in complex situations. The ideal candidate will be committed to, and actively seek opportunities to develop themselves within this new and exciting role.
