CPI in a nutshell

At CPI we work with our partners to translate inventions into products and processes that enhance health and well-being, protect and improve our environment and increase productivity across industries.

With a deep understanding of innovation processes and funding, outstanding technical expertise and industry relevant assets, we enable products and processes to be quickly and cost-effectively brought to market. This supports the development of next-generation manufacturing, highly-skilled jobs and economic growth for the UK.

Our partners operate across many diverse markets including pharmaceuticals, speciality chemicals, food and drink, electronics and transportation.

Why this role is important for CPI’s work

CPI is looking to recruit an experienced, people-focused HR Business Partner to join the team.

Working within the HR team, you will be responsible for contributing to and successfully delivering CPI’s people strategy, with a particular focus on employee/staff engagement and communications. You will lead on designing and implementing an employee engagement strategy for CPI. You will also maintain HR activities and projects within designated areas of the business, partnering with leaders and providing guidance and advice in areas such as recruitment and workforce planning, learning and development, performance management and health and wellbeing.

As CPI is a multi-site organisation, you will be required to travel occasionally to offices in the North East of England, as and when required.

The person we are seeking

You will have significant HR experience at a senior advisory level, and enjoy working independently and with a variety of people and projects. As a hands-on HR practitioner, you will be confident in supporting people through organisational change, implementing projects and initiatives and helping to shape new incentives that contribute to achieving our business strategies. Designing and implementing CPI employee engagement strategy is one of many projects planned for the coming year, therefore our ideal candidate will have previous demonstrable experience in staff engagement projects.

You will hold relevant qualifications (See job description for full details) and will have examples of using your knowledge to support effective delivery of high quality HR service. You will work well in a team, have a positive, helpful outlook and be confident in communicating with managers and employees across the business. As this role is based in Scotland you must be comfortable working remotely from a centralised HR team.

What does CPI offer you?

At CPI, we offer a wide range of benefits to our employees, including: family friendly policies, flexible holidays and holiday purchasing schemes, opportunities for learning and development, generous pension plan, life assurance and accident insurance schemes.
