CPI in a nutshell

At CPI we work with our partners to translate inventions into products and processes that enhance health and well-being, protect and improve our environment and increase productivity across industries.

With a deep understanding of innovation processes and funding, outstanding technical expertise and industry relevant assets, we enable products and processes to be quickly and cost-effectively brought to market. This supports the development of next-generation manufacturing, highly-skilled jobs and economic growth for the UK.

Our partners operate across many diverse markets including pharmaceuticals, speciality chemicals, food and drink, electronics and transportation.

Why this role is important for CPI’s work

CPI’s newest venture, a Medicine Manufacturing Innovation Centre (MMIC) will be a state-of-the-art facility in Renfrewshire, Scotland, offering transformative solutions in small molecule and fine chemical manufacturing.

We now have 3 technical vacancies, initially based in Taunton Somerset, later relocating to Scotland. We are inviting applications from existing employees of CPI, University of Strathclyde/CMAC, Astra Zeneca and GSK and will consider secondments and temporary transfers for people with the right skill set.

This Centre is supported by government funding from Scottish Enterprise and Innovate UK and the collaboration between CPI, the University of Strathclyde, AstraZeneca and GSK. The Centre aims to accelerate the development of a new generation of pharmaceutical manufacturing processes.

The person we are seeking

MMIC’s Grand Challenge 2 project will develop a novel Automated Clinical Trials Pharmacy Just-in-time’ Business Unit. We are seeking science and engineering professionals with specialisms in automation and integration communication to create a small team to deliver on this. The build is taking place on-site in Taunton, Somerset and is expected to take up to 18 months. On completion this will transfer to MMIC

What does CPI offer you?

At CPI, we offer a wide range of benefits to our employees, including: family friendly policies, flexible holidays and holiday purchasing schemes, opportunities for learning and development, generous pension plan, life assurance and accident insurance schemes.
