The Role

12 Month Fixed Term Contract, up to 30 hours per week.

The UK’s pharmaceutical and fine chemical industry is accelerating development of a new generation of manufacturing processes, thanks to a new £56 million medicines manufacturing innovation facility.

The state-of-the-art Medicines Manufacturing Innovation Centre (MMIC) will be located in Renfrewshire, Scotland, and led by the Centre for Process Innovation (CPI) in partnership with the University of Strathclyde, the Medicines Manufacturing Industry Partnership (MMIP), and founding industry partners, AstraZeneca and GSK.

The centre will ensure the UK is a technology and innovation leader in small molecule pharmaceutical manufacturing, thereby boosting the competitiveness and productivity of the sector as a whole.

Consequently, there is now an opportunity for a talented and experienced PA, to work directly for the Managing Director. The role holder will provide high level, PA support and should have significant experience of working with senior leaders. As this role will form part of a new and developing team within CPI, it is essential that candidates are able to work using their own initiative and take a lead role in providing a full administration service. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing effective diary management to the Managing Director and other senior managers as required
  • Supporting Managers on key projects, providing full and professional administrative support
  • Booking travel, organising itineraries and recording expenses claims
  • Preparing documents for meetings and ensuring they run smoothly

The Person

Applicants should be educated to Level 3 in Business Administration with significant experience of working within an administrative role at this level. The successful candidate will possess the following skills and competencies:

  • An excellent standard of communication, organisation and time management skills
  • The ability to work well as part of a team and provide support to others as and when required
  • The ability to establish excellent working relationships with key stakeholders of both the admin team and the Managing Director, and maintain a friendly and professional approach to dealing with all clients/customers of CPI
