The Role

The Centre for Process Innovation (CPI) is seeking to recruit an Electronic Test Engineer to join CPI’s growing Printable Electronics Platform. As an Electronic Test Engineer you will be responsible for supporting the delivery of collaborative and commercial projects. You will be identifying, implementing and establishing electrical test equipment.

Duties of the role include:

  • To perform programming, troubleshooting and basic maintenance of test equipment. This will include the testing and preparation of the equipment and materials for trials and the recording of process data and relevant observations
  • To run electronic test equipment and perform testing of electronic circuits
  • To carry out assembly of printed electronics circuits using both hand and automated toolsets.
  • To consult with the appropriate managers to determine test capabilities and optimal production process. This includes DFM (design for manufacturing) methodologies
  • To maintain responsibility for the overall process development of the test equipment and procedures to optimise performance and efficiency, to meet project deliverables
  • To consult with clients, business development and other departments to discuss and formulate estimates and successfully resolve issues

The Person

We are looking for candidates who have industrial experience in electrical test of SMD circuits and have a strong knowledge of testing standards for electronic assemblies. It’s essential that candidates have a demonstrable record of successful project delivery in an operational environment. Candidates must also be educated to HNC level within a technical discipline and have knowledge of instrumentation control through environment such as LabView and Matlab.
