Why this role is important for CPI’s work

Due to an internal promotion and company growth, CPI is delighted to be recruiting 2 Process Technicians. The roles are based at NETPark Sedgefield and support CPIs HealthTech business unit. The established and growing team assist with all SHE activities and projects with both external and internal and on-site clients with all activities related to the technical areas, including the cleanrooms.

We are looking for Process Technicians who can apply basic Engineering/​Scientific principles to provide technical assistance typically including preparation, research, design, sampling, testing and analysis work. Who will assist with the day-to-day running of the technical areas, and processing substrates. Working with clients and taking an active role in SHE initiatives in line with team and business unit requirements. We can offer training on a diverse variety of state-of-the-art equipment, using many processing techniques to make substrate. You will work on many cutting-edge projects and be involved in a variety of safety initiatives.

Key responsibilities:

To carry out all substrate requests including the use of all photolithography tools within the cleanrooms. 

Take responsibility for the checking of equipment to ensure it operates safely is performing within expected specifications and is available to meet customer needs.

To maintain consistent and documented compliance with all relevant Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE), quality and best practice requirements. 

To troubleshoot issues to identify the root cause of problems, and rectify or escalate as appropriate.

To contribute to a safe and healthy workplace. 

To present and formally report experimental conclusions and data for internal peer review and submission to clients, to timescales and standards.

The person we are seeking

You will be educated to a minimum of GCSE (or level 2 equivalent) in a Scientific or Engineering discipline and hold significant industrial experience. Ideally, you will be educated to A level (or level 3 equivalent) in Scientific or Engineering discipline with relevant industrial experience. We can also consider candidates educated to HNC level (or level 4 equivalent) with minimal industrial experience.

You will have fundamental practical knowledge and an appreciation of technical theory in process engineering.

It is essential that you have basic knowledge of principles and practices in general lab/​cleanroom operations, as well as some relevant experience of practical, technical-based work gained in academic or industrial environments. 

The ability to apply some theoretical and practical scientific/​engineering methods to contribute to business activities in printing/​coating/​deposition for HealthTech applications is also essential.

You will also be able to demonstrate evidence of knowledge sharing and network-building practice across teams or groups and have the confidence to use your judgement and imitative with routine activities and when to seek advice from managers or colleagues.

Desirable:

Experience of working in a clean room environment.
