CPI has a fantastic opportunity for an Apprentice Office Administrator to join the Administration team based at Wilton Centre, Redcar.
We are looking for a candidate who is keen to learn and would like to develop their skills in an administrative role. This varied role will give you valuable hands-on experience learning about how CPI operates, as well as receiving paid work experience, continued training and mentoring by CPI. The successful candidate will gain a Business Administration Level 3 apprenticeship by attending Middlesbrough College one day per week.
In this busy and exciting administrative role, you will have the opportunity to obtain new skills along with the potential for further development into other roles. Throughout the apprenticeship, you will continue to develop your skills to provide high-quality administration support and deliver excellent customer service. You will take part in administrative activities and support other CPI functions when required, adding to levels of variety in the role.
You will develop your skills and knowledge in the following:
Undertake reception duties, organising refreshments, arranging PPE and hosting visitors.
Assist with answering the main switchboard and transferring calls, taking messages as appropriate.
Assist with keeping the CPI archive/storage area and respective archiving database in order.
General office duties including distribution of incoming post, and liaising with internal and external customers via e‑mail.
Arrange meetings and book meeting rooms as required. Ensuring CPI meeting rooms are kept tidy on a daily basis and that all necessary equipment, literature and refreshments are available.
Responsible for checking all photocopiers within the CPI offices are supplied with paper and replacement toners. You will also carry out photocopying/scanning and binding on behalf of the team.
Take minutes/actions for meetings as required
Keeping stationery cupboards replenished.
Assist with arranging travel and accommodation for staff using the agreed processes for procurement and authorisation.
Raising purchase orders as requested and being responsible for placing orders as instructed using the company credit card, following the correct procedure.
To undertake any other admin tasks as required by members of the team.
Maintain consistent and documented compliance with all relevant Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE), quality and best practice requirements.
The person we are seeking
Educated to GCSE level. A minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent), including English Language and Mathematics to grade 9 – 5/A*- C (or be willing to work towards).
Experience in using Microsoft Office systems (such as Word, Excel etc.)
Ability to demonstrate attention to detail and desire to complete work to a high standard.
To show a professional attitude to work at all times, maintaining a high standard of timekeeping, respect, and reliability.
It would be great if you had experience in any of the following:
Experience of working in a busy office environment and managing a high volume and varied workload.
Experience of working in an admin environment.
Experience in coordinating events, appointments and meetings.
