Why this role is important for CPI’s work
CPI is looking to recruit a proactive Business Development Manager; you will be responsible for developing and executing plans to grow income in alignment with the business development strategy. You will also develop opportunities by applying market knowledge and public funding insights, translating the CPI offering to clients and managing networks and stakeholder relationships (internal and external). In this role you will work with companies in the field of Electronics, with the objective of selling CPI’s state of art facilities and services to help them develop new products and manufacturing processes for Medtech devices (including diagnostic devices), Batteries, Wearables, and devices for the Internet of Things (IoT) applications. This is an opportunity to work in rapidly growing markets with world technology leaders in their field.
The person we are seeking
The candidate will be expected to generate leads and secure contracts and develop a deep understanding of clients’ needs and challenges. Liaising closely with CPI’s scientific and engineering team to develop high-quality, creative commercial proposals is a key part of the role. Therefore, CPI will also consider applications from outstanding physicists, engineers or scientists who have already worked in a customer-facing or commercial role, and who are looking to take the next step in their career.
The successful candidate will have excellent client management and communication skills, to enable effective collaboration with technical and commercial leads within CPI and network partners and will also be able to generate strong value propositions with project partners. Applicants are required to show previous business development work experience in the electronics industry, with particular emphasis in one or more of the target markets: Medtech devices (including diagnostic devices), Batteries, Wearables, or devices for Internet of Things (IoT) applications.
