Why this role is important for CPI’s work
As the Strategic Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for researching and analysing market drivers within the Food, Feed and Nutraceutical market. This will include building strategic relationships with other organisations (including consultants, companies and research institutes) as well as desk-based research from sources such as market research reports, recent news and market databases.
You will also maintain effective segmentation of markets and make recommendations to enable targeted business development and bids development activities with effective value propositions. This will require you to assimilate complex data and synthesise this into clear, unambiguous business proposals to inform decision making. You will use this information to generate content, develop value propositions and plan campaigns to support income generation.
You will work collaboratively with business units across CPI, business development, technology and innovation and bids development teams to ensure that they have the information necessary to provide business development and bid focus and inform short, medium- and long-term strategies.
You will be the ‘eyes and ears’ for CPI through the lens of market and macro trends to enable the business to make informed tactical and strategic decisions. In time, you will develop into a thought leader for innovations in Food and Drink and Agritech and will communicate effectivity through oral presentations at conferences or webinars and through press release and blog content.
The person we are seeking
We are looking for someone who is able to demonstrate analytical and communication skills to build relationships with senior individuals within and outside of CPI, also to generate content and value propositions for the market and customers.
It is essential you have experience of operating within an innovation, research and development environment. Prior experience/knowledge of the Food, Feed and Nutraceutical markets is essential for this role as is a prior experience/knowledge in biotechnology such as industrial fermentation processes.
The successful candidate will be educated to:
- HNC or Foundation Degree level (or equivalent) in a Scientific/Engineering or Business Related (such as
- Marketing, Economics) discipline plus significant relevant industrial experience or
- Educated to Degree level (or equivalent) in a Scientific/Engineering or Business Related (such as Marketing, Economics) discipline plus relevant industrial experience

Location: Wilton (with travel across all CPI sites: Darlington, Sedgefield, Newton Aycliffe and some travel to Glasgow). Hybrid working is also available for this role but regular travel to CPI sites is expected
