Sandy Anderson OBE
Non-Executive Director

Sandy's career history includes roles such as Senior Vice president of Technology at ICI, Director of Engineering at ICI, and General Manger of ICI Teesside operations.

Sandy is the Chairman of the University of Teesside, one of the top UK universities for widening participation in higher education and winner of the Times Higher University of the Year award 2010.

He is chairman of Ensus UK, a company that operates one of the world's largest cereal grain bio-refineries in North East England refining locally grown animal feed wheat to produce bioethanol, high protein animal feed and carbon dioxide to be used in soft drinks and food production.

He is a governor of Durham School, responsible for the school's management, its standards, the way it deals with pupils and staff, its relationship with the wider community and certain financial matters.

He is a fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering, and a fellow of the Institution of Chemical Engineers.

Sandy is the Chairman of Tees Valley Unlimited.

He is a deputy lieutenant of the county of Durham.

He was awarded the OBE in 2009.

Sandy is the chairman of the Audit Committee for CPI.
